This handsome lad is Georgie.
He is a 7 year old Hungarian hound pointer mix.
He’s a sweet boy and has found himself at the kennels through no fault of his own.
Georgie loves human company and greets everyone with smile and head nudge!
He may potentially be able to live a neutered female dog, who has simuler needs to Georgie. This will be based on multiple introductions
Georgie is looking for an active home who will take him on lots of adventures. He is quite a strong boy and does pull quite hard on the lead. Being a hunting breed he really struggles with recall and has a very strong prey drive, he absolutely would not be safe to let off lead as he may decide not to come back. We would advise a long line for him when out exploring the world, this means he gets the freedom to wonder in a controlled environment.
It would benefit Georgie massively to be taken to training classes, where he can build a bond with you and also learn some skills such as loose-lead walking.
Due to his prey drive for small animals/furries, we will only be able to consider homes with very secure gardens for him and some one willing to help him work on his dog socialising skills.
Some experience with the breed would be highly preferred. Unfortunately we won’t be able to consider first time dog owners for Georgie. He will may be able to live with older children 12+, this however will be based on introductions.
If you are looking for a companion who will go on adventures with you then this is your guy.
Couch potatos need not apply for this active lad.
