Welcome Helen to the hotel. She is large Bully girl who is around 2 years of age. She arrived in our care as a stray and was never claimed by her humans. This poor girlie has obviously come from a bad place and is another victim of cruel ear-cropping and has likely spent most of her life so far raising puppies. This is all in the past for Helen though – she’s now ready to move on to find her forever sofa.
Helen takes a while to adjust to new people but once you’ve made friends she’ll stick to you for life. She’s a proper love-bug who loves a good cuddle session. Helen does get overwhelmed quickly around people she’s bonded with; she will therefore need an adult-only home as she could easily knock children over in her excitement.
Helen will need an active home and her new family should be confident handlers of bull-breeds. She is very athletic for her size and will enjoy an outdoorsy lifestyle that will keep her busy. As is typical for bullies, Helen does struggle to breathe in the warmer weather. She would benefit from a large, secure garden for days she can’t walk as far and she can enjoy a bit of sunbathing instead. Due to having her poor ears cropped she will need them to be checked regularly for signs of infection.
Helen passes other dogs quite well on walks but will need to be the only animal in the home for now. As with any rescue dog, we would recommend enrolling her on a training course to help her feel comfortable around sharing a space with other dogs.
If your application is successful you will be invited to meet Helen. If you do not hear anything within 7 days please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are unable to respond to everyone.
