Introducing the handsome gentle giant , Cub!
Cub is a three year old Rottweiler that was brought to us as a stray. He was in bad condition when he arrived at the home, Cub had been very clearly neglected by his previous owners. He was very underweight and his fur was falling out of him. With a change in diet, some extra food in his belly & lots of TLC Cub is looking (and feeling) MUCH better!!
Cub is a friendly lad, he loves nothing more than some cuddles from his humans. His favourite thing in the world is a game of tug & fetch in the garden followed by a long walk down the river. He enjoys getting all the sniffs in from the world around him & is an avid squirrel watcher!
He is a super bright dog and could be a great contender for dog sports to keep him stimulated! Cub will need to attend training classes going forward so he can learn some leash walking skills & doggie socialisation skills. Cub is a big foodie so will love a training buddy!
He could possibly live with Cats , Dogs and Rottweiler savvy children 16+ depending on introductions done at the centre ! He is a big boy and will need to live with children that understand big breeds well.
Cub has shown some resource guarding with his food, this is understandable as it’s clear he was never fed properly and is uncomfortable with people in his space when eating. it is important his new owners give him space to eat and work with him using positive reinforcement to build his trust around food.
