Introducing Ronnie, one of three bulldogs brought into us together as strays. Ronnie was understandably very stressed upon arrival and unfortunately he is really struggling in kennel life . However , once he is out of kennels he thrives when the toys come out! He absolutely loves to chase after a ball in the garden and play lots of treat games too. We believe Ron is around 2 years old.
It is likely that Ronnie has never been walked, as he doesn’t quite understand how a harness/collar and lead work and at first they really scared him! We have been working on this with him and he is now able to have his harness put on and go for a stress free walk with our volunteers . Ronnie is full of beans and would be a wonderful adventure buddy once he realises the world isn’t such a scary place!
Ron is a big cuddle monster too and loves to have fusses once he knows and trusts you, he can be a bit heavy handed with the kisses so watch out for his big bulldog head! He has a lovely personality that really shines through once he is out of kennels, if he had a job it would for sure be a comedian!
Ronnie will need to attend training classes to help him learn how to ‘be a dog’ properly, leash skills & socialisation skills. He could possibly live with a neutered resident female depending on introductions done at the centre.
He will need daily cleaning of his skin folds and owners who understand the bulldog breed so that he can thrive in an experienced environment. He can struggle with being left on his own so will need owners that are home most of the time and can work on this with him.
If your application is successful you will be invited to meet Ronnie. If you do not hear anything within 7 days please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are unable to respond to everyone.
