Aspiring-model Cher is a Cane Corso puppy who came to us as a stray. She is such a stunner and is a favourite among all the staff and volunteers. She gives the best puppy-cuddles and we’d like to see her land her big feet on her forever sofa soon.
Cher is still very young and has a lot to learn about the world. We think she is just under a year old but she definitely still has some filling out to do – she’ll be a very big girl when she’s done growing! She can be very over-excitable coming out of her kennel but soon calms down and knows how to walk to heel when she’s settled. She’s such a bright girl and will definitely be a joy to train and bond with.
Cher’s new family will need to be confident with giant breeds and ideally have experience with Cane Corsos or similar breeds, including their temperament and health needs. Because of her size we would look to place her with children only 13+ that are savvy with large dogs. Cher is a very social girl who may do well with a neutered and confident canine companion of a similar size. She could possibly live with a cat depending on introductions at the centre.
Cher is currently awaiting an operation on her leg due to a fault in the growth of her elbow. We will be unable to perform this operation at our vets or crate-rest her at the centre. Cher will need to be in her forever home to recover from this operation and her new people must follow strict guidelines to ensure she heals properly. This is a big operation for Cher and it needs to be done sooner rather than later. If you are selected as a suitable applicant for Cher the staff will contact you to discuss the process before and after her operation.
