Little Miss Muffin is an active 3 year old Chow Chow who has unfortunately been returned to us after a long foster period. Muffin is the result of poor breeding practices and has had several surgeries to correct her face folds and keep her comfortable. She’s been such a trooper and has gone through a long healing process and now all she needs is a forever home to be the princess of.
Muffin’s new family MUST have good experience of the Chow Chow breed and have owned one in the past. They are complex dogs who require a lot of upkeep to maintain their coat and face folds. Although Muffin has had multiple surgeries she still has limited vision and her owners will need to keep her safe when out and about because of this. Muffin has her own goofy personality that any Chow lover will understand and fall in love with. She does guard her food both in her kennel and in the home and will need strict rules and training in this area. She is learning to tolerate grooming and is getting better every day, but will still need a slow approach to professional grooming.
Muffin will need to be the only fluffy princess in the home. She is non-reactive to other dogs on walks and is actually quite playful. Muffin has two speeds only, zoomie and chill.
she does struggle to share a space in the home with other dogs and would prefer to her new owners’ number one priority. She may be able to live with a cat depending on introductions at the centre.
Muffin will need a child-free home. This is in part due to her guarding issues, but also due to her limited sight. She can sometimes spook when approached or touched as she can’t always see what’s coming and will need a predictable household so she can adjust easy to her new surroundings.
If you are a lover of the floof, hook this girl up.
Muffin is a playful, happy girl. She loves a fuss and will seek out people. An understanding home is all that she needs, her guarding issue can be carefully managed with a good routine and consistency.
How can not love a big snoot to book!
