Our boy Gomez has now been with us for over a year, he arrived as a stray when he was just a puppy that had never had any positive exposure to the world and was very worried. He was then adopted but unfortunately returned through no fault of his own.
Gomez has come on absolute leaps and bounds since being with us , he is a social butterfly with humans and enjoys meeting new pals on his daily walks- we’ve heard he now even stops at different shops on his walks because he knows he’ll get a treat from the staff! Gomez would be perfect for someone that loves really long adventures and hikes, he is an avid explorer that says no walk is too long!
Gomez used to be worried about travelling in the car , however with the help of our behaviour team and amazing volunteers he is now going on regular day trips in the car to keep the positive experience up and will happily hop straight in there! Gomez likes to go on trips to the beach to do his favourite activity; rock climbing ! He loves a good ol’ zoomie, a game of tug and chasing a ball in the garden with his pals .
Gomez is still working on his dog socialising skills, it’s clear that he hasn’t had much interaction with them and this shows in him getting frustrated and showing confusing body language signals. However he has been working on calm greetings with the behaviour team and is making good progress . We believe in time, he would love to have some doggie pals to run around with- his new owners will need to be prepared to keep up with this along with taking him to training classes to help him settle into his new home, learn new skills and continue to build on any learnt behaviours.
Gomez is looking for a dog free, adult only home that are experienced with the mastiff breed. He could potentially live with cats depending on intros.
