Helga is a 7-year-old French Bulldog who arrived at the centre feeling very confused and unsure. Wouldn’t you be, if you’d just been abandoned by the person who was supposed to keep you safe? Sadly, Helga is another “fake stray” who has simply been disregarded.
Once she found a trusted friend, Helga slowly began to come out of her shell and started to relax in her new surroundings.
She spent her first few months in kennels, which she found understandably stressful. To help her settle, Helga moved into a loving foster home — and she’s doing brilliantly there! Her foster carer describes her as the perfect house guest.
Helga can feel overwhelmed by the outside world, especially when she spots other dogs, but this is easily managed — she’s small, very food-motivated, and responds well to guidance. She’s non-reactive to traffic, people, and cyclists, and she’s happy being left alone for periods of time without any separation issues.
Once she’s comfortable with you, Helga’s true personality shines through. She loves a fuss, rolls around with joy, and plays happily with her toys indoors. She’s a girl of routine, and once settled into one, she truly thrives.
Helga adores her cuddles (or cwtches, as we like to say!) and will make you laugh every single day — she’s a funny little character with a big heart, and we wouldn’t have her any other way.
Helga is looking for a quiet, adult-only, pet-free home where she can feel safe and loved. A busy household would be too much for her gentle nature.

Please note: Helga will need regular upkeep of her face folds and bottom area to prevent bacteria build-up.
