This handsome gentleman is Daniel, a 10 year old Cocker Spaniel who arrived in our care after being abandoned by his pervious owners.

On arrival, Daniel required an emergency groom as his coat was extremely dirty, matted and generally neglected. The matting weighed him down so much it was clearly causing him a lot of discomfort. Despite this, he was very well behaved being handled and found a lot of relief from the groom afterwards.

Since being in our care, Daniel has shown lovely social skills and good manners around other dogs whilst out on walks with his new volunteer friends. It seems nothing much fazes this gentleman.

Albeit 10 years old, don’t let this fool you. Daniel is an active man who enjoys nothing more than going on new adventures, playing fetch and indulging in all of the belly rubs, love and attention from his carers.

This being the case, we feel Daniel would be best suited to a relatively active home with people who will fullfil his breeds needs by keeping him both physically and mentally stimulated in and outside of the home.

His new owners will need to be committed to a regular grooming schedule to ensure his coat is kept healthy and also willing to enroll him onto training classes and introduce him to a sport as a fun way to teach him new skills, build bonds and keep him stimulated.

He could potentially live with neutered resident dogs of similar age and energy levels. We are happy to introduce sensible children who will be respectful of his space and who can follow instructions and dog savvy cats.

This will all be based on controlled introductions here at the centre.

Daniel has a heart of gold and so much love to share. He is a must have for Spaniel enthusiasts.
