Dolly
Please whisper a gentle hello to Dolly, a mature Collie cross Labrador who arrived in our care as an unclaimed stray however, she is now ready to find his forever home.
On arrival, Dolly had clearly been neglected by her previous owners. She was underweight, suffering from sore eyes and ears, had overgrown nails and a bad flea infestation.
She has since had a visit to our vet and has been receiving treatment which is making her feel much more comfortable and happy in herself. She is slowly regaining weight and muscle mass through a monitored feeding plan and gentle walks with her new volunteer friends.
Despite her suffering, Dolly has such a sweet nature, good lead manners and canine social skills. She will no doubt make someone a lovely companion.
This being the case, she would be best suited to someone relatively active but patient home who will be willing to continue to rehabilitate and build her back up to full strength by continuing to follow her feeding and exercise plan.
Once at full health, Dolly would enjoy nothing more than going on new, leisurely adventures and spending her days relaxing and enjoying the simple things in life.
Dolly would benefit from being enrolled onto basic training classes to help teach her some new skills and build a bond with her new owners.
She could potentially live with sensible children who can follow instructions, other clam neutered resident dogs and dog savvy cats. This will all be based on controlled introductions here at the centre.
