Please welcome to the hotel our newest resident Misty, a 2 year old Dachshund who sadly arrived in care after her owners could no longer meet her needs.
Since being in our care, she has been gaining weight nicely and her confidence has grown.
Misty has good social skills with calm humans, she also has great lead manners and enjoys going on adventures. Being a hound, she has a great nose and sniffs out all the best smells.

Misty would benefit from a home with patient people who have good knowledge of the Dachshund breed. This way all her needs can be met to make sure she is kept happy and healthy.
She can sometimes be head shy and weary of new people therefore, her new owners will need to be aware of this and be committed to her ongoing desensitisation training by using positive reward based methods to help build her confidence.
She would greatly benefit from being enrolled onto training classes to teach her new skills, build trust and a bond with her new owners using a positive learning method. Once Misty has settled in to her new home, we feel she would enjoy a gentle sport like “scent work” to fulfil her natural behaviours of sniffing and finding.
Misty could potentially live with respectful older children aged 11+, a well balanced neutered resident dog of similar size for confidence as well as companionship and dog savvy cats.
This will all be based on controlled introductions here at the centre.
If your application is successful you will be invited to meet Misty. If you do not hear anything within 7 days please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are unable to respond to everyone.
