Manny
Please welcome Manny to the hotel. This handsome chap is a Collie cross who is in his prime at aproxinately 6 years old.
We are unsure of his past and would like to think that his previous life was a happy one, but sadly, Manny lacks confidence and becomes very worried in certain situations. He can be worried about unfamiliar things and children can worry him. However, Manny communicates his feelings very well and is currently working hard alongside our behaviour team to work through his worries and build positive associations to new things and experiences.
Once Manny knows and trusts you he is a very loving boy that enjoys being in his humans company and going on long walks with some games in the garden to finish. He is very stressed in kennels and we are hoping that someone will fall for this handsome , loving boy asap so that he can get out.
Manny would be best suited to a quiet but active, adult only home with people that have good Collie knowledge or experience who will allow him to adjust to his new life in his own time and be committed to his ongoing training and rehabilitation.
Being an active Collie, who enjoys playing and big adventures, Manny will need both physical and mental stimulation to keep him busy and fulfilled in and outside of his home
He would benefit greatly from being enrolled onto training and obedience classes to help teach him new skills.
In time, once he’s feeling more confident in himself, we feel Manny would thrive in any canine sport such as agility. This will also fe a fun outlet for him and further build strong bonds with his new owners.
Manny could possibly live with other confident, neutered dogs who have similar energy levels and dog savvy cats. This will all be based on controlled introductions done here at the centre.
