Introducing our chunky lady, miss dumplin’ !
Dumplin was brought into us as a scared stray, she was so worried when she first arrived that she spent two days in her bed and wouldn’t come out . Luckily with some TLC from the team she is turning out to be a rather confident lady now ! She is around 3-4 years old. She had some skin issues when she first arrived but has been on antibiotics for this and is clearing up nicely .
Dumplin’ is a loving girl, once she trusts you she will jump up on your legs for fuss and nuzzle her head into your lap for a scratch. She walks well on the lead and likes to go on a slow plod to take the sights and smells of the world in. she does get spooked when big lorries pass her on walks but with reassurance she able to continue her walk and forgets about them. When dumplin’ gets excited she will go into full on bull breed zoomie mode and spin round in circles !
Dumplin’s new owners will need to commit to training classes to make sure her confidence continues to grow and so she can build on her general life skills . She has been great around dogs at the home and has even been one of our stooge dogs for helping other dogs learn social skills! Dumplin’ is currently on a diet and her new owners will need to continue with this.
She could potentially live with children 16+ as she is not ready for a busy home. She could also possibly live with other dogs and cats depending on intros done at the centre.
