Ebenezer Scrooge is a young Bedlington Whippet mix who arrived in our care as a stray. This full-on handsome scruffbag has clearly had a bit of a rough start, but beneath the curls is the sweetest, most endearing lad.
Ebenezer can be a little nervous out on walks, especially in busy environments, but his confidence is growing every day. He isn’t fazed by passing dogs and generally shows lovely manners, but big lorries and fast bikes can worry him. With gentle reassurance, patience, and a steady supply of tasty treats, he settles well and looks to his handler for comfort.
Once he trusts you, Ebenezer melts into affection and will happily lean in for a fuss, soaking up every bit of kindness offered. He’s a sensitive, affectionate boy who thrives on calm, positive interactions.
Ebenezer will need daily grooming to keep his gorgeous scruffy coat in good condition. He’s an active lad who will benefit from plenty of exercise, along with brain games and enrichment to keep his clever mind stimulated.
With appropriate introductions, Ebenezer may be able to live with calm canine friends, cats, and children. As always, force-free training classes are strongly advised to help him continue building confidence, social skills, and general life experience.
Ebenezer is a truly lovely boy who would suit a calm, understanding family willing to go at his pace and show him the world isn’t such a scary place. In return, he’ll give endless affection, quiet companionship, and a heart full of love.
