Introducing our big-eared , handsome boy Arlo!
Arlo was brought into our care from another rescue after being returned to them due to his puppy bull breed behaviour.
Arlo is a cross breed, it’s most likely predominantly bull breeds in his mix . He is around 7 months old now ! Arlo is such a sweet boy , he loves a fuss off his humans and is always ready and raring to go for a new adventure every day . He is an excitable boy that needs an active home , preferably one that will harness his smart brain and high energy needs into training and something fun for him to keep his brain busy , such as agility or obedience . He would be perfect for an avid dog lover or a dog trainer as a sport dog, but would suit an active pet home that will fulfil him too.
Arlo is great with other dogs and has had a few play sessions with them at his first rescue , he could potentially live with another neutered energetic dog of a similar size, in fact , he would love this so he can play play play!
Arlo can struggle with managing his arousal levels, which is quite typical for his breed and age. More specifically, his over arousal can turn into heavy mouthing of his handler and ragging his lead. He is working hard on this with our behaviour team and will come home with a plan to continue on this. Arlo is doing very well and has not mouthed the staff or ragged his lead at all this week, so he is learning quickly! He’s only a baby that’s learning all about life and just needs a hand to help manage this
Arlo is currently looking for an adult only home to give him all the attention , love and training as this is what he desires (he is a king after all.) he could potentially live with cats too, depending on intros done at the centre .
