Jane is an 8-year-old British Bulldog who arrived in our care as a stray, with cuts to her face, sore ears that have sadly impacted her hearing, sore eyes, and nails that were well overdue a trim.
The good news? She’s already feeling much better and has taken everything in her stride. Jane has been assessed by our veterinary team and has since been spayed. In fact, she fully embraces her nightly “beauty routine” and sits beautifully for her treatments like the little pro she is. Jane will need ongoing eye care, including drops multiple times a day to keep her eyes clear and comfortable, as well as daily ear cleaning as part of her routine.
Jane also has a few lumps and bumps, as many dogs her age do, which cause her no bother at all but will need to be monitored throughout her life.
Jane is a big personality in a wonderfully squishy Bulldog body. She absolutely loves her food (nothing gets past her!) and her clumsy, slightly chaotic approach to life keeps everyone smiling.
Her greetings are something special — full-body wiggles and enthusiastic little bum waggles guaranteed. And when the day is done, Jane’s favourite place is right beside you (preferably on the bed), snoozing on her back and snoring away without a care in the world.
She’s also incredibly polite with cats. Even when faced with a particularly “spicy” one, Jane simply lowers her head and strolls past — no drama, just lovely manners.
Jane enjoys the company of other dogs but doesn’t need one. She’d be perfectly happy as your one and only, though if she does have a doggy sibling, they’ll need to accept that personal space is more of a suggestion… especially when Jane decides to sit on them!
She has remained calm when left home alone for up to 1.5 hours, usually choosing to have a snooze, and she’s doing brilliantly with her toilet training, with no accidents recently. Although Jane firmly believes that every trip back inside should be rewarded with cheese… and honestly, she may have a point.
Jane is now ready to find her forever home — one that will adore her quirks, enjoy her bedtime cuddles, and, of course, keep the cheese supply coming.
