Hank is a mature Bulldog x Staffy mix who is certainly no couch potato! This lad has the energy of a rechargeable battery—he just keeps going. He is completely ball mad and will happily play for hours, proudly carrying his football around wherever he goes.
Hank came into our care when his previous owners were sadly no longer able to keep him. Despite this change, he absolutely loves life and is one of the happiest, most fun-loving boys you could meet.
He can sometimes become a little overwhelmed with excitement and may go through a humping phase when situations feel too stimulating. This has been his way of coping, but since being neutered he is already making great progress in learning to move past this behaviour. On walks, Hank can be strong on the lead at first due to excitement, but he usually calms within a few minutes and walks beautifully once settled.
The good news is he is very food motivated, which is helping with his training and focus. With continued guidance, he is already showing great potential.
One of Hank’s favourite things is going out in the car. He loves exploring new places with his walkers—recent adventures have included sniffing out boats, checking out Pets at Home (toys, treats, and even some sneaky pick-a-mix!), and enjoying tasty chicken treats at Grangemoor. He’s fascinated by fish, meets new friends wherever he goes, and even tries his best “butt wiggles” to charm everyone he meets 🤫💛. After all this excitement, he loves a cuddle in the car before heading back home for lunch and a nap—best day ever!
Hank also loves his garden, where he can potter around, chase his football, and enjoy a good play session before wandering and taking everything in.
He is looking for a fun, active home with positive, committed owners who enjoy getting out and about. He will need continued training, structure, and enrichment to help him grow into the very best boy he can be—along with plenty of toys and, of course, footballs!
Hank could potentially live with children aged 14+ who are dog-savvy and confident around bull breeds. He may also be able to live with a calm female dog following successful introductions, and potentially dog-savvy cats.
Hank is a big personality who will bring laughter, energy, and adventure to the right home
