Watch out , there’s hounds about! Please welcome to the hotel, Hazel and Howard the beautiful beagles. These two unfortunately arrived in our care as strays after being found by a member of public wandering around. They had made their way into a pub , clearly these two were looking for an afternoon tipple! We believe they are around 4-6 years old.
Upon arrival, the staff noted that the dogs skin was itchy and sore, they had a few scars and cuts on them and their coats were stained with pee. The vet prescribed them some medicated baths and after having a few of these they are looking, feeling and smelling brand new ! Hazel is the more outgoing of the two, she loves to greet her people with the wiggliest bum ever seen! However , she can take some time to get used to people and gets worried about sudden loud noises. Howard is a little more reserved , but once he trusts you his personality comes out more and shows his true hound self! They have both clearly not had the socialisation and training needed to make them confident canines so they are lacking a little bit in that department, but the more they are getting out and having good experiences the happier and more confident they are !
These two would be perfect for any hound lover. They do love each-other and their tails go mad when they bump into each other on walks, however they aren’t particularly bonded. We would love for them to have a home together, but this isn’t mandatory and we will accept applications for either separately. They would both benefit from having another confident dog in the home to show them the ropes. They could potentially also live with cats and calm children of any age depending on intros done at the centre.
