Rose
Introducing the beautiful Rose, a ten month old Labrador that was brought into our care after her owners could no longer care for her.
Unfortunately, Rose hasn’t been treated very well in the past so she can be a little shy at first and was worried by kennel life, so she has since been living on foster with a staff member.
This is what her foster carer has to say about her:
“Rose is an absolute dream. She is both housetrained and cat friendly. Her favourite toy is her stuffed giraffe that she likes to sleep on the sofa with and carry around with her.
She’s a very clever girl who loves to use her nose out and about so would like a home that can do some fun activities like scent work with her.
She can pull on the lead when she gets excited about seeing other dogs but has good manners with them and lots of happy body language.
This being the case, she could potentially live with a well balanced, neutered resident dog for confidence and companionship depending on controlled introductions done at the centre.
Rose absolutely loves to cuddle so is looking for someone that is around a lot to cater to her needs and carry on her training. She is a little nervous of men however, it doesn’t take her long to warm up.
Rose has sadly shown some signs of past trauma however, we are taking a gradual approach to overcome her fear of wearing a harness, loud noises and sudden movements.
Therefore, her new owners will need to be kind, patient and committed to working with her, so she can continue to overcome her fears at her own pace.
She will need to be enrolled onto obedience and training classes to help teach her basic life skills she might have missed out on and further build her confidence and bond with her new family.”
Rose could potentially live with calm children who are 16 years and above.
