Bugsy
Introducing chunky Bugsy who was brought into our care as a stray, he has been with us a few times over the years, this time he has stayed with us in the hopes he can find his forever home.
Bugsy was in a bit of a state when he arrived. His nails were so overgrown that they had turned into long spirals and he was severely overweight with a large mass on his side.
He received a nail trim and Bugsy has now had his mass removed. He is feeling alot lighter and has a better quality of life. The good news is the lump is a type of cancer that is unlikely to spread and as it has all be removed, he can now live life to its full potential. He is responding well to his recovery so far.
Bugsy is such a sweet boy, he loves a fuss, bum scratches are his favourite. He is struggling with adjusting to the kennel environment so we hope hes not hanging around to long.
He absolutely loves his walks with our volunteers and does excitable barks when he gets out his kennel.
He greets everybody with a waggy tail and gentle nature. He is the happiest boy lapping up all the attention. Bugsy is a clean boy and will toilet outside, so settling in to his new digs will be a walk in the park.
Bugsy doesnt appreciate ending his walks, he will protest on return to the kennels, he sometimes grabs a lift from the staff (either a car ride or royal carry). Well we cant blame him for loving the outdoors.
Bugsy is looking for a home to take him on adventures and snuggle up on the sofa with him.
He is currently on a controlled diet, his new owners will need to be committed to continuing with this to ensure that he is kept a healthy weight. He has lost weight since being at the centre, we are hopeful he will reach his goal weight in no time.
Basic training classes will support his settling in and help build bonds. Bugsy is a must for pug lovers.
Bugsy could potentially live with children of any age, resident neutered dogs and dog savvy cats.
This will all be based on controlled introductions done here at the centre.
