Cardiff Dogs Home collects the following data:

This is collected for the purpose of applying to rehome dog, becoming a registered dog walker, fostering a dog, claiming a seized / stray dog and reporting a missing dog or requesting to sign your dog over for rehoming.

You directly provide Cardiff Dogs Home with all of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:
- Register to rehome a dog.
- Register to become a dog walker.
- Claim a seized / stray dog
- Report a missing dog
- Request to sign your dog over for rehoming
- Foster a dog
- Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback via email.
How will we use your data?
Cardiff Dogs Home collects your data so that we can:
- Contact you regarding rehoming / missing dogs/ signing a dog over for rehoming.
- Update the microchip of rehomed dogs to reflect your information as required by the Microchipping Regulations 2016.
Who do we share your data with?
Your personal data is shared with the listed partner organisations;
- PetPlan Insurance – At your request for the purpose of taking up to 4 weeks free pet insurance.
- The Police – If requested under Schedule 2 of the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Relevant microchipping company
- My Charms – the 3rd party who manage our PATCH system.
How do we store your data?
Cardiff Dogs Home securely stores your data on secure Council systems, drives and a secure third-party system, called PATCH. Only Cardiff Dogs Home staff and Trustees and employees have access to these systems.
Cardiff Dogs Home will keep your name, address, email address, and contact number for 6 years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data from our systems.

Cardiff Dogs Home would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
