Meet Freddie, an 8 month old male crossbreed. He was brought to our care as a stray and was never claimed by his humans. To be honest we think Freddie is greatful as his past life was clearly not for him. He has gained a good amount of weight well being with us, food was something he had much of on past as on arrival he was very underweight.
He loves toys and treats, games and tennis balls. Freddie is a clever boy who will need a home where he will have lots of things to do to allow him to use his brain. He is affectionate and enjoys lots of attention from people. As he is in the adolescent stage of life he will need continued socialisation, structured activities and plenty of exercise time. He is still mouthing at this stage so will need patience and sensible management until he matures. Freddie is currently being muzzle-trained and is taking it like a champ, he’s such a clever lad who really loves to please people.
Freddie has the trates and looks of a Dutch Herder/Belgian Malinois. These breeds are dogs with a strong working ethic and herding instincts, definitely not for the faint-hearted! Freddy will need high levels of physical activity, vigorous play sessions and would benefit from training classes and some sort of dog sport. He will need a confident handler with experience of working type breeds. Due to his mouthing behaviour we would not be suitable to live with anyone under the age of 16 while he is still in training.
Freddie shows interest in other dogs would probably benefit from a resident dog with similar high-energy who is neutered. Everyone needs a bestie!
Freddie is the sweetest boy and loves to be fussed. He just needs a buddy to call his own and someone to love him for him!
If your application is successful you will be invited to meet Freddie. If you do not hear anything within 7 days please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are unable to respond to everyone.
